Terms and Conditions for Intimate Gatherings and Micro Events at Lo Scoglio 

 Welcome to Lo Scoglio, a picturesque setting ideal for your intimate gatherings and events. Our goal is to make your special day as memorable and stress-free as possible. Please review the following terms and conditions carefully to ensure a smooth and enjoyable celebration. 

Event Coordination 

ELOPE Micro Weddings coordinate all weddings and events at Lo Scoglio. Customers must adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by ELOPE Micro Weddings in addition to the terms outlined herein.  contact details:  

For non-wedding micro events (including intimate gatherings, birthdays and private celebrations), coordination requirements will be outlined by Lo Scoglio at the time of booking. 

Guest Capacity 

Lo Scoglio can accommodate a maximum of 30 guests onsite, including children, for all gatherings and events. 

This capacity limit is strictly enforced to maintain the intimate nature of the property, comply with licensing requirements, and respect neighbouring residences. No exceptions will be made. 

Accommodation Limit 

For overnight stays, we can comfortably host up to 12 guests, including children, on the premises. This allows us to maintain the quality of our facilities and the comfort of all guests.  

Deposit & Final Payment 

To secure your booking: 

  • A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. 
  • The remaining 50% is due 30 days prior to arrival. 
  • If your booking is made within 30 days of arrival, full payment is due at the time of booking. 

Payments can be made via Visa or Mastercard (1.5% card surcharge applies).
Refunds (where applicable) must be returned to the same card originally used.
Bookings and payments must be supported with identification. 

Payment Policy 

Full payment must be received no later than 30 days prior to arrival.
If payment is not received by this date, Lo Scoglio reserves the right to cancel the booking and apply the cancellation policy. 

Cancellation Terms 

We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be transparent and fair: 

  • Cancel 60 days or more prior to arrival: Full refund of all monies paid (less a $150 cancellation fee). 
  • Cancel 31–59 days prior to arrival: Refund of 50% of the deposit, minus a $150 cancellation fee. 
  • Cancel within 30 days of arrival: No refund – 100% of the booking total is payable. 

All cancellations must be received in writing. We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances. 

Security Bond 

A security bond of $3,000 is required for all accommodation stays at Lo Scoglio. 

Where applicable, bonds must be paid no later than one (1) week prior to the commencement of the stay or event. 

All bonds are subject to inspection of the property post-departure and will be refunded within the timeframe outlined in these Terms & Conditions, less any costs for damage, excessive cleaning or breach of conditions. 

No additional event bond applies to micro events or intimate gatherings unless otherwise advised in writing. 

Site Inspections 

As part of your wedding planning, you are entitled to one complimentary site inspection to familiarise yourself with Lo Scoglio before the event. If you wish to schedule additional site inspections, they will incur a fee of $150 per visit. Please ensure to arrange any further inspections ahead of time to ensure availability. 

Event Access & Use of Lo Scoglio 

Venue hire includes access to Lo Scoglio from 12:00pm to 10:30pm on the event day. 

If guests are staying at the property the night before the event, venue access on the event day is naturally more flexible, as you will already be checked in and settled. 

If your booking begins on the day of the event, we are open to discussing early access where possible; however, please note that the majority of guests must vacate the property by 9:30pm to allow the house to return to guest-only use. 

Pre-Event & Post-Event Gatherings 

Lo Scoglio does not permit pre-parties, after-parties, recovery brunches, or next-day celebrations in connection with any event unless: 

  • The gathering is approved in writing in advance, 
  • It is booked as a separate event, 
  • An additional event fee is paid, and 
  • Appropriate event coordination and supervision is in place. 

Unauthorised gatherings, additional guests, or event-style use of the property outside the approved event timeframe are strictly prohibited and may result in loss of bond and/or immediate termination of the booking. 

Guests Onsite the Following Day 

Additional visitors on the property the next day (outside the overnight guests staying on-site) are not permitted without prior written approval. 

Where approval is granted: 

  • Total numbers cannot exceed 15 people, including those already staying at the house. 
  • No amplified music, celebrations, or event-style gatherings are permitted unless it is booked as a second event. 

These conditions are aligned with our Terms & Conditions, which must be read, agreed to, and signed prior to confirming your booking. 

Parking Arrangements 

  • Six car spaces are reserved for accommodation guests only.  
  • Parking is available for events with fewer than 20 guests. 
  • Events with more than 20 guests require prior arranged bus transport, booked with an approved transport company. 
  • No parking is allowed on nearby lanes. 

Event Fees & Administration 

Weddings 

All weddings hosted at Lo Scoglio are subject to a wedding administration fee of $3,000, as outlined at the time of booking and managed in coordination with ELOPE Micro Weddings. This fee contributes to the additional operational, coordination and property management requirements associated with wedding events. 

Micro Events & Intimate Gatherings 

Micro events and intimate gatherings are subject to a tiered event fee, based on guest numbers, as outlined in the current Micro Events Pricing Schedule. 

These fees contribute to additional servicing requirements including, but not limited to: 

  • Waste and rubbish management 
  • Additional cleaning and property care 
  • Coordination with approved caterers and suppliers 
  • Site access and operational oversight 

Event fees are essential to maintaining the condition, presentation and operational integrity of the property. 

Venue Access 

Venue hire includes access to Lo Scoglio from 12 noon to 10.30 pm on the event day. No pre and/or after parties and/or day after celebrations are permitted at Lo Scoglio or its accommodation.

Venue Licensing and Restrictions 

Please note that Lo Scoglio is not a licensed venue. As such, your event will be subject to certain limitations in terms of timeframes and guest numbers. We recommend referring to our comprehensive Terms and Conditions for detailed information on these limitations. 

Catering and Beverages 

All catering and beverage services must be arranged through our approved vendors or in-house catering team. External catering services are not permitted unless pre-approved by Lo Scoglio management.  

Event Duration, Timing & Guest Departure 

All events and gatherings at Lo Scoglio must strictly adhere to the pre-agreed event timeframe to ensure compliance with noise restrictions, local regulations, and respect for neighbouring properties. 

Event End Time
All additional event guests (being guests not staying overnight at the property) must vacate Lo Scoglio by 10:00pm sharp. This is a firm, non-negotiable end time. 

Guest Departure Management 

The orderly departure of guests at the conclusion of the event will be managed and enforced by the approved catering and/or event supplier on the evening. This includes clear communication to guests and, where necessary, actively escorting guests off the property. 

The Hirer acknowledges and agrees that: 

  • There is no capacity for late extensions, lingering guests, or informal “wind-down” periods beyond the agreed end time. 
  • Failure by guests to vacate the property by the required time may result in penalties, including bond deductions or immediate termination of the event. 
  • The responsibility for ensuring guests are aware of, and comply with, the event end time rests with the Hirer and their chosen supplier. 

This requirement forms part of the supplier’s operational obligations and must be communicated clearly to all guests prior to the event. 

Decorations and Setup 

While we encourage personalisation of your event, all decorations and setup plans must be approved by Lo Scoglio management in advance. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and integrity of our property and compliance with our aesthetic standards. To protect our surfaces and maintain our property’s condition, nothing may be adhered to walls, floors, or any part of our premises. Additionally, the use of confetti is strictly prohibited. Pampas grass, drones, fireworks, wishing lanterns, or helium balloons are also not permitted at Lo Scoglio. 

Noise and Music 

We are committed to maintaining a peaceful atmosphere. As such, all music and noise levels must comply with local noise regulations and our own policies. Music must be concluded at a reasonable hour, 10pm, as determined in consultation with our management. Live music after 7 pm is not permitted.  

Code of Conduct  

We reserve the right to exclude or remove any person whose behaviour is undesirable or offensive from the event. 

Photography and Videography 

We welcome photographers and videographers to capture your special day. However, we request that all such arrangements be discussed with our management team to ensure they align with our property’s privacy and operational policies. 

Liability and Insurance: 

The event organiser will be responsible for any damage to the property or injury to persons resulting from the event. We highly recommend securing event insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.  Report any breakages or damages to Lo Scoglio promptly. We will endeavour to rectify the issue swiftly, with no refunds for repairs during the stay. 

Damage and Clean-up Clause 

In the event of damage to the property or furnishings caused by personal body fluids, including but not limited to vomit, urine, or similar, the responsible party will incur an additional clean-up fee, to be determined at our discretion. This fee is in addition to any standard damage or security deposit charges and is necessary to ensure the property is returned to its original state of cleanliness and hygiene for the enjoyment of all guests. 

Indemnification  

Event organisers indemnify Lo Scoglio from any claims arising from the event. 

Force Majeure 

Lo Scoglio will not be liable for any delay, disruption, or inability to perform its obligations under this agreement where such failure is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control (Force Majeure Event). 

Force Majeure Events may include, but are not limited to: 

  • natural disasters (flood, fire, storm, cyclone) 
  • acts of God 
  • government restrictions, public health orders or mandated shutdowns 
  • pandemic-related interruptions 
  • war, terrorism, civil unrest or evacuation orders 
  • utility failures, power outages or essential service interruptions outside our control 
  • sudden property damage that renders the venue unsafe or unsuitable for use 

If a Force Majeure Event occurs, Lo Scoglio will: 

  • Notify the Hirer in writing as soon as reasonably practicable, outlining the nature of the event and the impact on the booking. 
  • Use reasonable efforts to offer alternative dates or potential solutions (where feasible). 
  • If the event cannot proceed, Lo Scoglio may terminate the booking without liability, and the Hirer will be entitled to a refund of all monies paid, minus any costs already incurred that cannot be recovered. 

The Hirer acknowledges that Lo Scoglio will not be responsible for: 

  • any additional costs incurred by the Hirer, including travel, accommodation, vendor or supplier expenses; 
  • consequential, indirect, or financial losses arising from the cancellation or modification of the event due to a Force Majeure Event. 

By confirming the booking, the Hirer agrees that this clause is fair and reasonable and accepts the risk associated with unforeseen events outside the control of Lo Scoglio. 

Grounds Maintenance  

Lo Scoglio reserves the right to make necessary renovations and changes to the venue. 

Cancellation Policy 

Should you need to cancel your event, please refer to our standard cancellation policy outlined in our larger Terms and Conditions. We understand that plans can change and will work with you to find a suitable solution. 

Property Sale & Event Cancellation Clause 

Lo Scoglio is currently listed for sale. By confirming an event booking at Lo Scoglio, the Hirer acknowledges and accepts that the property may be sold prior to the event date. 

In the event that a sale occurs and the new owner chooses not to continue hosting events, Lo Scoglio reserves the right to cancel the booking. Should this arise, the Hirer will be provided with a minimum of three (3) months’ written notice. 

All payments made to date will be refunded in full, and the Hirer agrees that this refund will constitute the full extent of Lo Scoglio’s liability. No further compensation, loss-of-income claims, relocation costs, or consequential damages will be payable. 

By proceeding with the booking, the Hirer confirms their understanding of this clause and agrees to these terms as a condition of hosting an event at Lo Scoglio. 

Acknowledgment 

By choosing Lo Scoglio for your intimate gathering or event, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, our comprehensive Terms and Conditions as well as the rules and regulations set forth by ELOPE Micro Weddings (if necessary).
